The majority voted in favour of a motion:
That so much of the standing orders be suspended as would prevent the motion for the third reading being moved without delay.
In other words, the majority didn't want to discuss the bill anymore and wanted to vote on whether to pass it in the House of Representatives immediately.
Nobody rebelled against their party.
