Coastal Trading (Revitalising Australian Shipping) Amendment Bill 2017 - Second Reading - Reaffirm commitment to Australia's shipping industry
Not passed by a small majority
No rebellions 95% attendance
Division last edited 17th Sep 2017 by mackay staff
The majority voted against an amendment to a deferral motion. That is, they voted against changing a motion to resume debate on the bill on the next sitting date to a motion to resume debate on the first sitting in 2018.
This amendment was put forward by Labor MP Anthony Albanese, as the Labor Party believed that consultation was required before they could consider this bill and so wanted the time for that consultation to be conducted.
Nobody rebelled against their party.
