Background to the bill

This bill was introduced with a package of bills that implement a carbon pricing mechanism. It establishes a framework for the payment of financial assistance to eligible steel corporations under the two payments schemes established by the bill: the competitiveness assistance advances scheme and the Steel Transformation Plan (STP).(Read more about the bill in the bills digest.
