- Universities Accord (Student Support and Other Measures) Bill 2024 - in Committee - Reduction of AASL, HELP, SSL, FS and VETSL debts
Description

Andrew McLachlan

As a result of the vote, the second opposition amendment cannot be put as it was consequential; it was only necessary if schedule 2 was negatived. I will now proceed with the division on the amendments on sheet 3140, moved by Senator Faruqi. The question before the committee is that the amendments on sheet 3140, moved by Senator Faruqi, be agreed to.

- The majority voted against [amendments](https://www.openaustralia.org.au/senate/?gid=2024-11-25.248.4) introduced by NSW Senator [Mehreen Faruqi](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/senate/nsw/mehreen_faruqi) (Greens), which means they failed. The purpose of the amendments was to reduce AASL, HELP, SSL, FS and VETSL debts by 20%.
