<p class="speaker">Sue Lines</p><p>I remind senators that, after 4.30 pm on Thursday, 19 September 2024, a division was called on a motion moved by Senator David Pocock concerning gambling advertising. I understand it suits the convenience of the Senate for the deferred vote to be held now.</p>-

- >> *(ii) Australians are denied access to information that would reveal the influence of the gambling industry on Commonwealth ministers and parliamentarians through:*

- >>> *(B) a complete lack of transparency around parliamentary passes provided to lobbyists; and*

- > *(b) calls on the Government to:*

- Note that West Australian Senator [Fatima Payman]( https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/senate/wa/fatima_payman) (independent) and Queensland Senator [Gerard Rennick](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/senate/queensland/gerard_rennick) (Independent) are currently listed as rebel voters but this is inaccurate because the senators are no longer part of the Labor Party and Liberal Party respectively.

I acknowledge that in fact there were no voices for the ayes, but I do ask as a courtesy to the chamber whether you'd consider recommitting that question to us.</p> <p class="speaker">Anne Urquhart</p><p>It is Senator Pocock's deferred vote, so I would seek an explanation as to why Senator Pocock wasn't in here to actually move it.</p> <p class="speaker">David Pocock</p><p>I'm happy to oblige. I assumed that it would just come to a vote given that it was a deferred division when we couldn't take a division, and I was off to a ministerial briefing on legislation. I apologise. I would very much appreciate if we could have a division.</p> <p class="speaker">Sue Lines</p><p>Senator Pocock, it did come to a vote. The vote was taken, and the vote was lost. But Senator McKim has sought leave to re-put the vote. Leave has been granted, so that's what I intend to do. The deferred vote from 19 September was on a motion moved by Senator David Pocock concerning gambling advertising. The question is that that motion be agreed to.</p><p></p><p></p> -
