<p class="speaker">Glenn Sterle</p><p>The question is that the suspension motion moved by Senate Waters be agreed to.</p>-
- The majority voted against a [motion](https://www.openaustralia.org.au/senate/?id=2024-08-19.11.2):
- > *That so much of the standing orders be suspended as would prevent me from moving and debating the motion.*
- Standing orders are the usual procedural rules of parliament.
- In other words, they voted against letting Queensland Senator [Larissa Waters](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/senate/queensland/larissa_waters) (Greens) introduce another motion on the subject of the national gender pay gap.
- #### No rebellion
- Note that West Australian Senator [Fatima Payman](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/senate/wa/fatima_payman) (Independent) is currently listed as a rebel voter in this division but that this is inaccurate as she is no longer part of the Labor Party and is instead an independent.
