Title

 • Motions Covid-19: Mortality
 • Motions - Covid-19: Mortality - Further inquiry needed

Description

 •
Andrew McLachlan

 •
I remind senators that on Thursday 8 February 2024 a division was called on the closure motion moved by Senator Roberts relating to Senator Babet's general business notice of motion No. 462, concerning excess deaths in Australia. I understand it suits the convenience of the Senate to hold that division now, so I put the question.

 • The majority voted in favour of a [motion](https://www.openaustralia.org.au/senate/?id=2024-02-26.129.2) introduced by Victorian Senator [Ralph Babet](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/senate/victoria/ralph_babet) (United Australia Party), which means it passed. While these types of motions do not make any legal changes on their own, they are politically influential because they represent the will of the Senate.
