  • <p>I will now put the questions on the remaining stages of the Interactive Gambling Amendment (Credit and Other Measures) Bill 2023.</p>
  • The majority voted against an [amendment](https://www.openaustralia.org.au/senate/?gid=2023-12-06.217.1) to the usual second reading motion, which is "*that the bill be read for a second time*" (to give a bill a second reading is to agree with its main idea). This amendment was introduced by ACT Senator [David Pocock](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/senate/act/david_pocock) (Independent).

  • <p>I will first deal with the second reading amendment circulated by Senator David Pocock. The question is that the second reading amendment on sheet 2259 be agreed to.</p>
