  • <p>I move:</p>
  • The majority voted in favour of a [motion](https://www.openaustralia.org.au/senate/?id=2023-09-12.4.2):
  • > *That the question be now put.*
  • In other words, they voted to end debate and instead vote on the matter straight away.
  • <p class="italic">That, in order to provide for the consideration of the Housing Australia Future Fund Bill 2023, National Housing Supply and Affordability Council Bill 2023 and Treasury Laws Amendment (Housing Measures No. 1) Bill 2023&#8212;</p>
  • <p class="italic">(1) The order of the Senate of 19 June 2023 relating to the Housing Australia Future Fund Bill 2023 and related bills no longer apply, allowing them to be considered immediately, and the bills be called on as the next item of government business.</p>
  • <p class="italic">(2) On Tuesday, 12 September 2023:</p>
  • <p class="italic">(a) the routine of business from 6 pm be consideration of the bills (second reading speeches only); and</p>
  • <p class="italic">(b) the Senate adjourn without debate at the conclusion of the second reading debate, at 10 pm, or on the motion of a minister, whichever is earlier.</p>
  • <p class="italic">(3) On Wednesday, 13 September 2023:</p>
  • <p class="italic">(a) the questions on all remaining stages of the bills be put at 11.45 am;</p>
  • <p class="italic">(b) paragraph (a) operate as a limitation of debate under standing order 142; and</p>
  • <p class="italic">(c) divisions may take place between 12.15 pm and 2 pm for the purposes of the bills.</p>
