Title
Bills — National Reconstruction Fund Corporation Bill 2023; Second Reading
- National Reconstruction Fund Corporation Bill 2023 - Second Reading - Further initiatives needed
Description

Sue Lines

The question is that the second reading amendment on sheet 1914 revised, circulated by Senator David Pocock, be agreed to.

-
- The majority voted in favour of an [amendment](https://www.openaustralia.org.au/senate/?gid=2023-03-28.132.1) to the usual second reading motion, which is "*That this bill be now read a second time.*" To [read a bill for a second time](https://peo.gov.au/understand-our-parliament/how-parliament-works/bills-and-laws/making-a-law-in-the-australian-parliament/) is to agree with its main idea.
- This amendment does not make any changes to the bill itself but still has political significance because it represents the will of the Senate. It was introduced by ACT Senator [David Pocock](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/senate/act/david_pocock) (Independent).
