Division last edited 17th Mar 2023 by mackay staff
The majority voted against an amendment introduced by Victorian Senator Ralph Babet (United Australia Party) to the usual second reading motion, which is "that the bill be read a second time". To read a bill for a second time is to agree with its main idea.
At the end of the motion, add "and the bill be referred to the Community Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 29 June 2023".
Nobody rebelled against their party.
