- The majority voted in favour of a [motion](https://www.openaustralia.org.au/senate/?gid=2022-02-10.23.7) to suspend the usual procedural rules - known as [standing orders](https://peo.gov.au/understand-our-parliament/how-parliament-works/parliament-at-work/standing-orders/) - in order to let a vote on another motion happen. Because this vote was successful, the other motion [went to vote](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/divisions/senate/2022-02-10/4).
