  • The majority voted in favour of a [motion](https://www.openaustralia.org.au/senate/?id=2021-12-01.45.1) to pass the bill. In parliamentary jargon, they voted to read the bill a [third time](https://peo.gov.au/understand-our-parliament/how-parliament-works/bills-and-laws/making-a-law-in-the-australian-parliament/). This means the bill will now return to the House of Representatives, where our MPs will consider whether they agree with the Senate's amendments. If the agree, then the bill will become law.
