  • <p>This matter is currently before the courts and it would not be appropriate for the government to comment. Likewise, debate on the terms of this motion would not be an appropriate use of one hour of the time set aside for government business in this chamber.</p>

  • <p>Just in response to Senator Duniam, the decision to prosecute is an executive decision. It is not a matter that is before the court and as such it is quite appropriate to debate whether or not it is in the public interest to prosecute. We're not dealing with any of the issues that are before the court.</p>
