Title
Business — Consideration of Legislation
- Business - Consideration of Legislation - Counter-Terrorism Legislation Amendment (Sunsetting Review and Other Measures) Bill 2021
Description

Jonathon Duniam

I move:

That the provisions of paragraphs (5) to (8) of standing order 111 not apply to the Counter-Terrorism Legislation Amendment (Sunsetting Review and Other Measures) Bill 2021, allowing it to be considered during this period of sittings.

- The majority voted in favour of a [motion](https://www.openaustralia.org.au/senate/?id=2021-08-10.115.1):
- > *That the provisions of paragraphs (5) to (8) of standing order 111 not apply to the [Counter-Terrorism Legislation Amendment (Sunsetting Review and Other Measures) Bill 2021](https://www.aph.gov.au/Parliamentary_Business/Bills_Legislation/Bills_Search_Results/Result?bId=s1310), allowing it to be considered during this period of sittings.*
- In other words, the majority voted to suspend the usual procedural rules - known as [standing orders](https://peo.gov.au/understand-our-parliament/how-parliament-works/parliament-at-work/standing-orders/) - so that that bill could be considered in this sitting period.

Scott Ryan

The question is that the motion moved by Senator Duniam be agreed to.
