- > *That there be laid on the table by the Minister representing the Prime Minister, by no later than 9.30 am on 11 December 2020, any correspondence from any of the hosts of the Climate Ambition Summit 2020 to the Australian Government in relation to Australia's participation or attendance at the summit.*
<p>I amend the motion in the terms circulated in the chamber. I move the motion as amended:</p><p class="italic">That there be laid on the table by the Minister representing the Prime Minister, by no later than 9.30 am on 11 December 2020, any correspondence from any of the hosts of the Climate Ambition Summit 2020 to the Australian Government in relation to Australia's participation or attendance at the summit.</p> <p class="speaker">Jonathon Duniam</p><p>I seek leave to make a short statement.</p> <p class="speaker">Scott Ryan</p><p>Leave is granted for one minute.</p> <p class="speaker">Jonathon Duniam</p><p>The official correspondence between heads of government and cabinet ministers remains confidential as it occurs and for a period of time afterwards to ensure discussions can be candid and a trust can be built.</p> <p class="speaker">Scott Ryan</p><p>The question is that motion No. 950, as amended, be agreed to.</p>
