2nd Sep 2020, 10:05 AM – Senate Business - Consideration of Legislation - Fair Work Amendment (COVID-19) Bill 2020
Summary
EditThe majority voted against a motion introduced by NSW Senator Mehreen Faruqi (Greens), which means it failed. The motion was to suspend the usual procedural rules - known as standing orders - so that another vote could take place. Since it failed, that second vote won't happen.
Motion text
That so much of the standing orders be suspended as would prevent Senator Faruqi moving a motion to provide for the consideration of a matter, namely a motion to give precedence to a motion relating to the consideration of the Fair Work Amendment (COVID-19) Bill 2020.
