  • <p>As outlined in the communique of the 11 October 2018 meeting of the Legislative and Governance Forum on Gene Technology, representing all Australian governments, forum ministers welcomed the technical review and requested further advice in relation to amendments to the Gene Technology Regulations 2001, recommended by the Gene Technology Regulator. Following this meeting, further work was undertaken by the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources. This matter is yet to be finalised by the forum.</p>
