Description

  • The majority agreed to pass the bills in the Senate (in parliamentary jargon, they voted in favour of giving the bills a [third reading](http://www.peo.gov.au/learning/fact-sheets/making-a-law.html)). The bills will now be sent back to the House of Representatives for the [Members of Parliament](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Member_of_parliament#Australia) to decide whether they agree with the [Senators](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_Senate)' amendments. If so, the bills will become law.
