Health Legislation Amendment (Improved Medicare Integrity and Other Measures) Bill 2024 - Second Reading - Dental care
Not passed by a large majority
No rebellions 40% attendance
Division last edited 5 days ago by mackay staff
The majority voted against an amendment to the usual second reading motion, which is "that the bill be read a second time" (parliamentary jargon for agreeing with the main idea of the bill). This amendment was introduced by Farrer MP Sussan Ley (Liberal).
That all words after "That" be omitted with a view to substituting the following words:
"the House notes that under this Government, Australians' access to affordable health care through the Medicare Benefits Schedule has only gone backwards, and it has never been harder or more expensive to see a GP".
Nobody rebelled against their party.
