Title
Motions — Workplace Relations
- Motions - Workplace Relations - Don't let a vote happen
Description

Tony Smith

The question now is that the motion moved by the Leader of the Opposition be disagreed to.

- The majority voted in favour of *disagreeing* with a [motion](https://www.openaustralia.org.au/debates/?id=2020-12-10.3.2) introduced by Leader of the Opposition [Anthony Albanese](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/representatives/grayndler/anthony_albanese), which means it failed.
- ### Motion text
- > *That so much of the [standing orders](https://www.peo.gov.au/understand-our-parliament/how-parliament-works/parliament-at-work/standing-orders/) be suspended as would prevent the Leader of the Opposition from moving the following motion immediately:*
- >
- > *That the House:*
- >
- > *(1) notes the industrial relations legislation introduced by the Government yesterday cuts the take-home pay of workers; and*
- >
- > *(2) therefore, pursuant to standing order 37(c), calls on the Minister for Industrial Relations to immediately discharge the order of the day, Fair Work Amendment (Supporting Australia's Jobs and Economic Recovery) Bill 2020, from the Notice Paper.*
