Title

 • Motions Economy
 • Motions - Economy - Don't let a vote happen

Description

 •
Tony Smith

 •
The question is that the motion for the suspension of standing orders be disagreed to.

 • The majority voted in favour of *disagreeing* with a [motion](https://www.openaustralia.org.au/debates/?id=2020-09-02.45.2) introduced by Grayndler MP [Anthony Albanese](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/representatives/grayndler/anthony_albanese) (Labor), which means it failed. The motion was to suspend the usual procedural rules - known as [standing orders](https://peo.gov.au/understand-our-parliament/how-parliament-works/parliament-at-work/standing-orders/) - so that another vote could take place. Since it failed, that second vote won't happen.
