<p class="speaker">David Littleproud</p><p>I seek leave of the House to move the third reading immediately.</p><p>Leave not granted.</p>- The majority voted in favour of a [motion](https://www.openaustralia.org.au/debate/?id=2019-12-04.47.4) to stop the MP for Watson [Tony Burke](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/representatives/watson/tony_burke) from speaking any more in this debate. These types of motions are known as *gagging motions*.
<p>I move:</p><p class="italic">That so much of the standing orders be suspended as would prevent the motion for the third reading being moved without delay.</p> <p class="speaker">Tony Burke</p><p>In speaking to the motion, those opposite need to consider: every time they get the opportunity to shut down members on this side, they take it.
