<p class="speaker">David Littleproud</p><p>I move:</p><p class="italic">That the motion be put.</p>- The majority voted in favour of a [motion](https://www.openaustralia.org.au/debate/?id=2019-12-04.57.1) *that the question be put*. In other words, they wanted to vote on the question now rather than discussing it any further.
<p class="speaker">Tony Smith</p><p>The question is that the motion be put. Members must remain in their seats unless they're changing their vote or did not vote in the previous division, in which case they must report to the tellers.</p><p>The question now is that this bill be read a third time.</p> <p class="speaker">Tony Burke</p><p>The third reading has not been moved, because the minister's motion has not been put.</p> <p class="speaker">Tony Smith</p><p>This is what happens when we have successive division upon successive division. The question is that the motion moved by the minister be agreed to.</p>
