<p class="speaker">Darren Chester</p><p>I seek leave of the House to move the third reading immediately.</p><p>Leave not granted.</p>- The majority voted in favour of a motion to suspend the usual procedural rules (known as [standing orders](https://www.peo.gov.au/understand-our-parliament/how-parliament-works/parliament-at-work/standing-orders/)) so that a motion on whether to [pass the bill](https://www.peo.gov.au/understand-our-parliament/how-parliament-works/bills-and-laws/making-a-law-in-the-australian-parliament/) can be voted on without delay.
<p>I move:</p><p class="italic">That so much of the standing orders be suspended as would prevent the motion for the third reading being moved without delay.</p> <p class="speaker">Tony Smith</p><p>The question is that the motion moved by the minister be agreed to.</p>
