<p class="speaker">Kevin Hogan</p><p>In accordance with standing order 133(b), I shall now proceed to put the question on the motion moved by the honourable member for Grayndler on which a division was called for and deferred in accordance with standing orders. No further debate is allowed.</p>-
- The majority voted in favour of a [motion](https://www.openaustralia.org.au/debates/?id=2018-12-04.87.2) to suspend the usual procedural rules - known as [standing orders](https://peo.gov.au/understand-our-parliament/how-parliament-works/parliament-at-work/standing-orders/) - in order to let another vote place. However, since an absolute majority was not formed, the motion failed anyway.

- There was one rebel in this vote, with Chisholm MP [Julia Banks](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/representatives/chisholm/julia_banks) (Liberal) crossing the floor to vote 'Yes' against the rest of the Liberal Party, which voted 'No.'
