<p class="speaker">Ian Goodenough</p><p>In accordance with standing order 133, I shall now proceed to put the question on the motion moved earlier today by the honourable member for Maribyrnong on which a division was called for and deferred in accordance with the standing order. No further debate is allowed.</p> <p class="speaker">Tony Smith</p>- The majority voted against a [motion](https://www.openaustralia.org.au/debates/?id=2018-09-10.26.2) to suspend the usual rules to let a vote happen, which means the vote won't take place. In parliamentary jargon, they voted against suspending the [standing orders](https://www.peo.gov.au/learning/fact-sheets/making-a-law.html).
<p>The question is that the motion moved by the Leader of the Opposition be agreed to.</p>
