- The majority voted against a [motion](https://www.openaustralia.org.au/debates/?id=2017-09-11.69.2) *"that the Deputy Prime Minister be no further heard."* These motions are known as gagging motions. Since it was unsuccessful, the Deputy Prime Minister can continue to speak.

<p>The Leader of the House will need to resume his seat. Under the standing orders, as I said on Wednesday, I think, the matter needs to be put without debate and needs to be put immediately. The question is that the Deputy Prime Minister be no further heard.</p>
