  • The majority voted in favour of a [motion](http://www.openaustralia.org.au/debates/?id=2017-08-16.83.2) to stop Labor MP [Joel Fitzgibbon](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/representatives/hunter/joel_fitzgibbon) (for Hunter) from speaking. These motions are known as gagging motions.

  • <p>As much as we are enjoying the member for Hunter's contributions this week, I move:</p>

  • <p>The question is that the member for Hunter be no longer heard. Again, members need to remain in their seats unless they are changing their vote or did not vote in the previous division, in which case they must report to the tellers.</p>
