<p class="speaker">Tony Smith</p><p>Is leave granted for the third reading to be moved immediately?</p><p>Leave not granted.</p>- The majority voted in favour of a [motion](http://www.openaustralia.org.au/debates/?id=2017-08-15.112.1):
- > *That so much of [standing orders](http://www.peo.gov.au/learning/fact-sheets/standing-orders.html) be suspended as would prevent the motion for the [third reading](http://www.peo.gov.au/learning/fact-sheets/making-a-law.html) being moved without delay.*
- A "motion for a third reading" is the last vote that needs to happen in a house of Parliament before the bill can pass that house, so it's really just a vote on whether or not to pass a bill.
